Helpp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after wanting to set my car on fire...i calmed myseft and figured i would try and find wisdom from the gods of this forum. Ok,Here's my issue...... it will be a long post.

I first took the car to the dealer because of several problems:

1. When i turn my headlights on, and only when i turn my headlights on, my TCS off light and ABS inop light will come on.

2. My check engine light was coming on

3. NONE of my interior lights or my power door locks are working.

The dealer said the following:

1. My EBCM was bad, i need a new one the code pulled up is 55 which means internal malfunction.... $856

2. The check engine light is saying my O2 sensor left bank is bad... $350

3. They replaced a circuit breaker and everything worked fine

Ok, well being the cheapskate that i am I guess i wasn't about to pay 1200 dollars to get screwed over by a dealer. So i ordered the EBCM myself, as well as the oxygen sensor.

Welll here the story gets interesting..... I didn't pay for anything at the dealer so i'm assuming they took the circuit breaker back out of the car because nothing worked in the interior when i picked it up.

1. I replaced the ebcm, only to find out that the problem still exists with the abs light. Here's my thing...... When i turn on my headlights, i hear a deep click coming from the front of the car and then the tcs off light and abs light come on. THat is the only time the tcs off light and abs light come on, when i start up the car, drive it around, they do not come on, only when i turn on my lights. I narrowed it down to being whenever I turn on my running lights but I still can't figure out what that deep click is. Also, I can't find the circuit breaker that the dealer supposedly replaced either. So.... I guess my questions are this:

1. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the tcs problem and clicking noise?

2. Does anyone have a diagram of where every fuse and circuit breaker in the entire car are located?

3. What else could be causing the interior light problem?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Helpp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interior light sounds like a fuse. Probably too obvious though.

The PCM doesn't just go bad. Maybe you can return the one you bought.

O2 sensors are picky. Stock GM ones are probably the best.

You have a short somewhere. Probably in the fuse box under the hood. Your headlights (parking lamps) and your ABS/TCS shouldn't have much to do with each other as far as I know.
Check all your grounds.

Also, do you have a headlight out??
Does your ABS work?

Re: Helpp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I recently had an electrical prob in my truck when i hit brakes dash lights come on etc. Finally figured out my left rear tail light caused it even though it worked and looked normal. Im telling you maybe try changing any lights that affect it or even take out left try it then right and try its worth a try.

That deep clicking sound is probably a circuit breaker popping...if you can hunt down the sound, you should be able to find that breaker they are talking about...

Re: Helpp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are only a few spots that have circuit breakers and fuses, One is on the dash panel facing the driver side door , when you open the door it exposes it. The other is a black box with a twist/unscrew plastic knob on top of it located on the front driveside fender inside the engine bay and then there are circuits inside the panel under your your driver side steering column. To me , all your problems are electically related to a ground issue or blown fuses or relays or corroded connections or many shorts. Good luck to you and welcome to AF.
