Is rear hub/abs sensor asbly on '97 serviceable?

Dealer just told me that my abs problems were being caused by a bad rear hub/abs sensor assembly. The part is over $500 ! Is it serviceable? On my Chevy truck, the sensor can be cleaned or replaced seperately. If its that much $$$. I may just pull the ABS fuse.

Its serviceable in respect that you have to swap out the whole hub-bearing assembly. The wheel sensor is not serviceable separately. I've seen the rear hub for the GP from $250 and less at national auto parts stores. Even lower at a salvage yard.

The best you'll probably able to do is clean the electrical contacts on the jack and plug sides. Plus check the wiring leading up to the ABS/Wheel sensor and make sure the electrical connector is making good contact. Good luck!

I can sell you an AC Delco hub for $151.00 plus S/H. Avoid the imported cheapo's on the hubs with ABS sensors on them, unless you want to do the job again soon.
