Thumbs down 2001 pontiac grand prix steering leak

what in the heck is gm thinking designing a power steering system like this on the grand prix. what a hunk of junk. had a power steering leak, couldnt tell where it was coming from, just fluid everywhere, so i replaced the pump, no fixy, so i crank it up on the rack and take a look, no leak while running. so i started turning it. leaked only when it turned right out of the left rack/pinion boot. is this normal for the boot to be filled with fluid, because when i took it out, the right boot had fluid in it.

It is not normal to have fluid in the boot. When you get fluid there, it means the rack bulkhead seal is shot. There's one on each side.
