Angry airbag light

Hello,

I just replaced both airbags after they have been deployed. But the airbag light remains on. Is there anyway to reset this light??

Thanks

Re: airbag light

Apparently, you can clear the light by "clearing" the codes. That can be done by lifting the Neg Battery terminal for 45 seconds. Das2123 suggests a fuse, but I can't recall which one to accomplish the same thing. Das.....??

Note. according to the BOOK.. if the light is on it may indicate a malfunction in the ACM or in the airbags themselves. THE ACM (airbag control module is located between the seats underthe plastic console just ahead of the brake lever).

I don't like messing with pyrotechnics and I suspect the virually empty thread is indicative of people having the heebee geebees when monkeying with airbags.

notwithstanding that.... clear the codes and check your work. Apparently there is a Passive Restraint manual... I don't have it. Hey!!!! It might be one of the impact sensors. Collisions have a way of breaking things.

Pulling the fuel pump fuse for about 5-10 minutes will reset the PCM, I don't know about clearing the air bag light.

It probably is the impact sensor, since the car did sustain a pretty big front end collision. I did replace the control module, thanks for the location! Where can I find the front impact sensor? Is there just 1?? And can I just buy these at Murrays or an Auto store??

Thanks

Re: airbag light

They should be behind the front bumper. If you lay on a creeper and roll under the fromt corners just look up.I think they are a dealer or junkyard item, but it never hurts to ask.Give Murrays a call.Yhe worst they can do is say no.
