Horn And Fluid Not Working

My daughter has a 2001 Dodge Neon. The horn won't work and she can't get her windshield wiper fluid thing to work. I am a mom who knows very, very little. Can you tell me what to check to see if I can fix it myself? Thanks for your expertise. I really appreciate how smart people who know about cars are!

Ma'am, some how i feel a bit grotesque and sticky after receiving disingenuous flattery from a woman. So what ever what happened to Gloria Steinham and Germain Greer? I know. Hillary... she can help ya.

Re: Horn And Fluid Not Working

gandc, when your daughter presses the horn, does she hear a click sound? If you hear that click sound, it means you have a bad horn. When the washer fluid switch is pressed, do she hear the motor running? If it's running, it could be either low on fluid or one of the lines has a restriction, common to occur b/c those lines are made of very thin rubber.

No clicking sound on the horn. Just dead. Fuses seem OK. I checked the washer fluid hoses, no kinks. Thanks for the suggestions though. Anything else I can check?

The horn not working is probably a bad relay, and the washers could be a bad motor or clogged lines.

It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a good and bad fuse, but you never know.

Usually it is pretty obvious unless it burns off to the side instead of inthe middle where you can see it the easiest. Improbable yes Impossible no

make sure if you swap fuses, swap it out w/ one of the same amp rating. Don't switch a 10 Amp w/ a 15 Amp or else you could be asking for maximum smoke and burn up a wiring harness, giving you more problems.
