Thumbs down Wierd noise

What kind of a sound would a cv joint make when you know its bad or going bad? Maybe its a wheel bearing, but its like a wubwubwub sound that increases with speed. At first i thought it was a bubble in my tire, but no bubble. Just wanted to know if anyone has encountered this before...

Re: Wierd noise

A CV joint would click as you turn. A wubwubwub sound might be your tranny if it's an auto. I've never really heard a manual tranny sound like that. Try changing your tranny fluid. Either that, or your idea of "wubwubwub" is different sounding than my "wubwubwub".

Your NUTS will feel teh steel toe
Teh steel toe that has been in teh snow
I will rip off yuor pants and kick yuo in teh nuts
My steel toe will stick to yuor nuts
And I will swing yuo around by yuor nuts as I do a Hurricane kick

Re: Wierd noise

if you did the wub wub thing fast... thats what it sounds like, but it increases and decreases with my speed. Almost like a bubble in my tire, but i cant figure it out. My tire looks fine, but the sound is getign crazy. I thought it was my wheel bearing, but now that ive bought that stuff, my mech friend said that thats not the sound it makes when a wheel bearings going out. I cant figure it out, but i guess when i get my rims on next week with my new tires, and theres no more wub wub wub, then thatll be awsome. But if there is, im going to rip my hair out. HMMMMMMMMMM

Re: Wierd noise

well, last night i beard the storm, and took everything off, got down to the hub... and it took me about 5 god forsaken hours to get the racers outa the hub. I bet that hub is half useless lol, cause i too an impact hammer to it, and this car is my only mode of transportation, so if i didnt get it done, i ran the risk of no being able to get to work. Hence the importance of getting it done. I thought i was stuck for a long long long time, and just when i was about to give up on it, and just skip out ion work, and go pull a whole new hub.... i stuck it in the freezer for about an hour, and wacked it, THAT DIDNT WORK, so we got a tool from the guy next door who sells bearing, and got it off in about 20 minutes. SO RECAP... i we spent 5 hours beating on this hub with the wrong tools, and about 20 minutes with the right tools. I will never replace a bearing myself with out a puller or a press again. It is well worth the hundred somthing bucks to have it done. LOL.... i guess its not so bad once youve done it before though!!!! thanks guys(i also had another thread i will post this in cause i made a few threads about this noise)..... but it runs now smooth as a babies arse.
