Coolant Level Light
I had a fluids shop replace my antifreeze and now my "Coolant Level" light comes on when I turn off my key. I also can not reset it per the manual's instructions. Has anyone fixed the float in the radiator which may be stuck? ... Or perhaps you can tell me where else to look? Thanks.

Re: Coolant Level Light
To answer my own question, here's what I learned:
1) The float can get stuck. It's located at the bottom, left-side of the radiator directly below the filler openning. Therefore, it's best not to suck the anti-freeze out. If you ask a fluids shop to discard your old anti-freeze, perhaps they should use the drain plugs. 2) The coolant lever sending unit was only $16 at BMA so I replaced mine. 3) If you don't want to replace your stuck sending unit, you can short the sending unit wires together with a 1" wire to turn the light off on the dash. |
