Cool need to find cheep turbo kit

i have a 2001 plymouth neon 2.0l 16 valve DOHC which from what i understand is a rare motor.I bought the car used so i don't really know that much about it except it's the LX model. I have done such upgrades so far as a CAI, complete header back exhaust system, 17in motegi mr7 wheels, on Nankang NS-1 Sport tires, a complete 15 speaker stereo system, a panther spoiler w/ led third break light, and front and rear strut tower bars. Now i am finally ready to do the right thing and turbo charge and inter cool it. But before i do i have to find a cheap(real) turbo and intercooler kit and also a five speed transmission as i now have an auto. and yes it sucks. although i have clocked in at a 15.1 in the quarter mile.

First of all, you don't have a rare motor. How much are you wanting to spend on your turbo and intercooler? You do know that you need more than just those two things to install a turbo? Given that you do, the cheapest turbo you can find will probably be an SRT turbo and intercooler. They are always for sale at www.srtforums.com in the for sale boards. The turbo and manifold go for about $250 and the I/C for about $100, not bad at all. Now since you have a SOHC, you will need to buy an adapter plate so the turbo will bolt up to your manifold. Then you need to get your return fuel lines, oil return lines, about 100 clamps, custom piping, fittings, RRFPR, BOV, wastegate, larger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and a few more things. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes.

Now for the transmission, you can use any neon transmission from 95-00, but you will have to swap out the bell housing to fit your Hydraulic clutch, as the 95-00 clutches are cable. These trannies go for about $150-$200. Or you can get a 01-03 MTX and all the related parts to swap it out.

unfortunatly

yeah unfortunatly he's 110 percent right, whats the mileage, because if its high your gonna have to replace most of the hoses, theres gonna be a lot more pressure on them, and if its high mileage again, its a neon so its gonna have problems, good luck.
