Angry window fault on all new golfs

Hi..Last weekend my window fell into my door,(2000GTi).Took it to the dealers, they said VW are aware of this problem and agree to go 50% on all costs.I,m buying a new one soon and asked if the fault is still there.Dealer says yes and when it "falls in".bring it back and we'll fix it.
My question is,has anyone else had this experience and did VW pay full costs,(maybe my dealer was trying it on) and why have,nt VW recalled???..

Canadian dealer told me the window regulator was fully covered by a "special" warranty that was longer than the standard warranties. I guess we'll see.
