93 acrd 5 spd turns but won't start

I've had this car for 4 months now. Bought it in APril from its first owner.
WOrked very good for the first 2 months. Then the engine started to die intermittently.
Has happened 4 times already in about 2 months. THe first time it happened it started working after about 5 tries. The other 3 times it would not restart. had it towed to my mechanic , but it started fine there. THey could not fine any probs with it. The same thing happened the last time it died. This towing is costing too much. Thanks AAA for the discount..

I've read other posts having similar probs. seems like it could be the main relay not supplying the ECU or the iginition module overheating.



Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated , aslo the location of these components would be of great help.

Could be a bad ignition coil or igniter. Or it could be the main relay. The main relay can be resoldered which will usually fix the problem. There are tests which you can do to pinpoint the problem, like testing the igniter, ECU etc and if that is OK, it probably a bad coil. Go to the below link for more info.

distributer housing possibly. My 93 ex was doing the same thing. Found out the housing was shit. got it replaced and now it works just fine.

Where do I find the main relay. I'm thinking it could be the main relay.

under the driver side dash board! get under there and look up underneath(it is deep and out of the way) and it should be a little box!

Getting to the Main relay. Help yourselves. Its a breeze
