Automatic Door locks, '96 Achieva

My Doors lock automatically when the car in On. If I unlock the doors, a few seconds later the doors will lock again. This is causing me to get locked out every time I leave the car unless I leave the door open. I am looking to disable this feature. The owners manual says the doors should lock when put in gear, which would be OK with me. I have pulled the fuse and operating the locks manualy, but want to use my keyless remote and power locks. Is there a way to change this feature?

I wish I could help did you get an answer? How do I get a question out there like yours? I'm locked out of my trunk on a 95' Cutlass and I want to find out if there is a trunk release anywhere in the car. Nick
