Unhappy 1999 Cavalier Front bumper turn signal bulb

I have a 1999 Cavalier (Base model, 4 door sedan). In the front on the bumper, I have a right turn signal that does not work and when turning on the right turn signal, will be faster than a usual blinker. What I want to know is HOW to get to that so I can find out (mechanic says it's a 3357 bulb, but want to make sure) and replace the bulb. Someone told me that you had to get under the car, and quite honestly, not even my head doesn't fit under the bumper. Can the lens be taken out or something? Or is it through the hood? It doesn't look like it could be done through the hood.

Note: I said BUMPER, not headlights! All the past advice given to me was for the turn signal in the headlight, and this is not what I want.

Thank you, and sorry, I have to stress the above, otherwise, I'll get more advice on the headlight, which I know I can do already.

Any advice is appreciated though.!

yup, you gotta drive your arm in there and turn it about 1/4 turn and the socket with the bulb in it will pull out. best thing to do is to get the bulb out and bring it to the shop and say you want this bulb.

or if you cant do that remove the bumper... all kinds of 7mm bolts holding it on.

Yes, found it. Thank you Ryan066! Found on the bulb, it's a 3057 bulb.

Also, one last question, on the trunk there's a taillight with a red section and a clear light for backing up, is there supposed to be a "brake" light in there? Or is it only a "backup" lamp? (Backup, as in reverse) I didn't see any wires leading to another light for the red section. Only for the backing up lamp.

Re: 1999 Cavalier Front bumper turn signal bulb

if its one of your turn signal bulbs that is f'd up you HAVE to take out your headlights to get to them i have done it many times infact i had to do it today to get to my bumper signal lights b/c i got the clear euro ones but its not as bad as it sounds first you will need to remove the plastic sheild that covers the front of the bumper i assume you have that to i have a 97 cavy but after that you will have to loosen up the 2 bolts that hold in your headlight after you remove those the headlight should slide right out i recommend covering your bumper w/ a towel to avoid scratches in the paint that is if you have a painted bumper then you can get to signal lights witchever set they might be i dont know if you actually need to pull them out to get to the bulb but even in that case it is do-able there are self threading wing nuts that fit over the little posts that extend off of your lenses on your signal lights then after removing those the lenses should fall right out in your hand then its just a matter of twisting the old light terminals out of the lens then inserting the new bulb in place of the old one THANK YOU im awsome

I have already stated in the above post, that I have corrected this problem by reaching the light through the "hole" in the bottom of the bumper, giving a quarter turn, pulling out the bulb, and placed a new one in there and then put the socket back into it's proper place.
