I am in need of a shoft shifter... and was wondering what you del sol owner's out there would recommand? I just purchased my 95 del sol yesterday and dang the stock shifter is just way, way to high and slow for me... well, if you have any shops or brands or websites you could give me the hooks up with, leave me a message... thanks a ton...

Re: what brand... and where...

Actually the OEM shifter on the Del Sol is pretty short as is. The throw is pretty small too - I can shift without having to move my arm. Just the wrist. My personal opinion is that it doesn't need a short shifter installed.

But if you must have one, buy from a reputable company. Not APC and the like. Other people here might be able to suggest some brands you can look into.

Re: what brand... and where...

I personally have the neuspeed short throw in mine. It is a high quality piece hade of mard steel, unlike cheap aluminum Ebay knock offs. I Paid about $120 2 years ago, so the price has probably dropped. As far as the shift difference...night and day. The B16a's are notorious for grinding at high RPM's b/t 2nd and 3rd. After installing my nuespeed shifter, no more grinds. Another thing to note is that the neuspeed shifter comes with new polyurethane shifter stabalizer bushings. 1 for where the actual shift rod connects to the trans and onfor the rear stabilizer. Those bushings make a dramatic difference in shift feel. As far as how long my throw is, i would have to say it reduced it by about half. Perfect in my opinion. By the way plastic (not trying to thread jack) Where the hell have you been. I haven't seen you on here in forever. Good to see you again.

Hehe, I'm a truck driver now. Got tired of being laid off by the computer tech companies so now I drive a big rig. No more worries about being laid off and I make more money than I ever did. Downside is I'm gone most of the time. I'm only home two weekends out of the month. So when you see me post, it's my weekend home.

Don't worry, I'll still be around - I'm not going anywhere. I've been doing some major research to prepare for the motor build I'd like to hopefully start next year. Shooting for around 200-250whp in an N/A setup. I'm also trying to dig my way out of debt so that's a slow process but if all goes as planned I should hopefully be completely or almost totally out of debt by this year's end.
