Automatic Door Locking

I read in the owner's manual of my 97 JGC Ltd. that you can set it so that the doors lock automatically after getting to a driving speed of 15 kph or something like that. It says you have to bring it to the dealer to activate it? There must be a way to set it myself. Does anyone know how?

I have 2 98 GC's. My 5.9 does not lock automatically but the other limited does. My dealer told me i can't turn it off! Who knows. On the regular limited you can press unlock on the remote and all the doors unlock on the first press where the 5.9 doesn't. The dealer says you can't get them to do that...hmmm..

These are all BCM (Body Controller Module) options and along with a few other things (Daytime running lights, Horn chirp on alarm set, etc.) can be set with a "pro" DRB tool. Generally, unless you have access to one of the higher end Snap-On DRB boxes, the dealer is your easiest choice and should be able to set all your choices in less than 1 hour with a cost of less than $75 (sometimes around $35-$50). Go through your owners manual before going there and have a checklist of what options you want set to what choices.
