wierd dash, also transmission problems

My 2001 Venture's Driver Message Center has started presenting numerous faults. Tailgate Ajar, Door Ajar, Low brake fluid. None of these faults exist. Brake light is also "on". I have eronous fuel and temp gauge indications that started before all of the messages. Now the power sliding door does not open, but closes (typical). Does anyone know if the Body Computer controls these. I have checked every connector I can find. I changed instrument clusters. (By the way when you do this it will lock out the radio.)No luck.
My tranny also sings in OD. OD does not work. All else is fine.

Re: wierd dash, also transmission problems

I don't know what is causing your particular problem, but it reminded me of something that happened this weekend. I was sitting in the carwash listening to the radio and decided to shut the motor off. Turned it straight to ACC from ON, and the Message center started cycling through the various messages. I had never seen that happen before. There is probably a power fault to something like the BCM, but I don't have the book for the Venture. By the way the radio can be reprogrammed - check around the forum for similar issues. Somebody has probably gone through this already. Good luck.
