Quick vs question

Ok so I have a question here. I am about to buy a car that is better on gas for me and I also want a little pep to it. Is the 99 grand am gt faster then a 98 z24 or a 2005 cobalt in a race? What would be the best for mods, and a 1/4 track race?

The Cobalt, z24, and Grand Am would all be pretty close if the Grand Am doesnt have a V6 and the Cobalt isnt supercharged. My guess would be the z24 would have the biggest aftermarket. 1/4 mile times would depend on how much you had to dump into it.
