got teased by a Viper SRT-10

It happened last night, around 9:30 p.m. Me and Char (wife) where sitting in Musashi waiting at a red light. the road is a little ugly back road with really uneven pavement, full of bumps and construction off to both sides so there is alot or rocks and stones all over. Its two lanes at the light but right after you cross you gotta merge into one lane. anyway this red Viper stops right next to me (the merge lane) but then he backs up to give my car a whole car lead. Char didnt realize what it was so she's like " he wants to play"
me: screw that, thats a Viper"
her: really? *looks back* He smiled at me, I'm not looking any more, he's ugly!
Me: well maybe thats why he got a Viper, either way he is gonna launch.
her: let him

Light goes green and this thing launches like its on a slingshot! awsome launch, no wheel-spin, no chirp, just pure preccision rocket start!

It was awsome. I stood there admiring how quick it accelerated even throught crappy road. simply BADDASS!

Booyaah.

Nice. I remember when one did a 2nd gear pull on my friend...nice rear bumper!

Surprisingly, I actually saw another one as well today.

Re: got teased by a Viper SRT-10

I watched a Ford F150 Lightning try and take on a Viper about 2 months ago in Austin. I couldn't believe this guy even tried. Needless to say The Viper made him look like he was standing still. We get to see a lot of Vipers here in Texas. Last I checked something like 70% of all Vipers where owned by Texans. Probably people who are rich off of oil wells. LOL

A friend of mine has a viper. When your in those, you just feel the torque all over your body. The whole car shakes and growls. One of the coolest rides ive ever been in.

Re: got teased by a Viper SRT-10

Are they really that much faster than a TT or VR4?

500 bhp @ 5600 rpm 525 lb.-ft 3357 lbs
vs.
320hp, 315 lb/ft and 38--lbs

Yeah, we are definantly the underdog by a large margain.

I don't remember times on them, but I wanna say they can crack 11's with a real good driver.... might only be low 12's tho.

Yeah, they're a fair bit quicker, and they really don't stop accelerating, they'll pull hard clear through ~180

Re: got teased by a Viper SRT-10

Theres a handful of vipers around here. Ive seen more than ever this summer. All the new body style. Never seen anyone romp on one though...all the old guys who drive them drive like b$#ches. Can only dream about riding in one...

Re: got teased by a Viper SRT-10

1st gen Dodge Viper performance specs

0-60mph 4.0 - 4.2 sec
0-100 mph 8.9 sec
1/4 mile: 12.2 sec @ 118mph. Fastest known magazine recorded stock time is 11.77 sec.
Top Speed 186 - 192 mph
0-100-0 mph 13.2 sec
0-150-0 mph 31.6 sec
Lateral Acceleration 0.98
Braking 122 ft.
Slalom Speed 72.4 mph
Gas Mileage City/Highway 11/21

note: this info is for the 1st gen only. The newer ones have like 50 more bhp and are much lighter i believe, so the numbers are slightly different. And then of course theres the Twin Turbo 700+ horsepower Vipers, which are a whole other story haha...a dealer where i live has one of those babies in the showroom.

My dad used to work at a dodge dealership a year ago, and he took me out in one of the '04 vipers. All I have to say is, it is something that everyone should experience atleast once in their life.
