Question Just changed oil, NEED to reset oil service light.

I just bought a 94 740i, and I just had a local service station change my oil. How do I reset the oil service gauge (the one that comes on when you first start the car). They had no clue on how to do it.

Thanks for any help,
Misay

Service light Reset

Try Auto Zone or Advance they do scan checks free. A $49 PEAKE tool will do this as well and if you are brave, heavy gauge wire to short pins #7 and #19 in the data link poat (with ignition on of course).

As Bear stated, you can jumper the pins at the data link. It's real easy, I do it myself at every oil change on my e34. Here's a link for the procedure that should help you out.
Service Indicator Reset
