the cruise control on my 94 T & C is not workingnow. It was working fine, then went through a period of about one year when it worked intermittently. now it does not work at all. I don't use it or need it much but i like everything to work. i know next to nothing about chryslers i checked the obvious, like fuses and wire connectors under the hood. any suggestion, can it be checked with a code scanner?

Re: cruise control
By any chance does your horn not always work & does your airbag light come on & off from time to time?? If so you need recall for the clockspring at no charge from dealer. First the cruise goes & the horn will sometimes not work. Next all will become inoperative. It could be many other things but pay attention to the lights on dash to see

Do you know what the cruise machanism looks like? It is under the hood. At the throttle body there are two cables , one goes to the accelerator pedal & the other to the cruise module. It looks sort of like a can with a rubber end on it. It is controlled electrically & by vacuum. Possibilities include: Broken or frayed cable from throttle body to the module, bad vacuum line to the module & faulty electrical connection. And of course, a faulty cruise module There are other electronics involved & ways to check that later. Ususally the cruise fails due to the clockspring or mechanically on these. |
