The left back door of my 1992 Park Avenue suddenly refuses to get opened, nor from inside, nor from outside. At the same time also the window cannot be opened any more, also not from driver's seat control.
When I open the car with the remote control button clicking twice, I hear the motor of the doorlock, sounds normal. I would think this is a stupid electral problem, any idea how to better diagnose and solve it myself? Note: In the Netherlands where I live there are not many Park Avenues. I just bought this car because I love it, drove it before in the US. It runs perfect and looks like new. I want to be able to do simple electrical and mechanical repairs myself, leaving the motor repairs and maintenance to my garage. Can anyone recommend me a Manual on the Buick Park Avenue 1991-1992 model, that will help me in diy? Many thanks in advance for a reply

Re: Re: back door & window locked PA 1992
Thank you "Neighbour",
I ordered Chiltonīs (ISBN 0-8019-8430-0) at Amazon Marketplace, 2nd hand, great deal, shipping was more than the book price... It will take at least a week before the book arrives. Can anyone who reads this, fax or e-mail me a copy of the relevant pages, or otherwise give me advice/instruction how to open my door lock and solve this problem? Send me a private message and I will provide the necessary details. Thanks

Re: back door & window locked PA 1992
Let me ask? the back windows and door locks work by electric...there should be a way to , atleast, unlock the rear door manualy. If you try to move the manual lock and its stuck, then theres a problem

I had the same problem with the same door on my 90 PA. Take the door panels off , get some WD 40 and saturate the door latching mechanism. Work the handles and it will eventually come loose. The grease is caked and wont allow the latch to release. As for the window, same thing but it may also be the motor.
