b2600i

Ok guys, need opinions QUICK. I've had my eye on an '89 mazda b2600i 4X4, 5-speed, short box regular cab.

Truck has higher mileage, 300,000KM,s but runs GREAT, lots of power, transmission shifts smooth, 4wd is also VERY smooth.

As for its condition, all body work was done 1 week ago professionally, along with a brand new paintjob.

Options: AC, rear sliding window, bucket seats, box liner, tinted windows, larger tires.

What i was told it needs to certify (its at a small guy dealership, and they took it as a trade in, but he had it quickly checked over by a mechanic to see breifly what it needs to certify, and he told me,

1) Fan belt (easy can do it myself)
2) right side ball joint
3) brake flex lines for front
4) spot on back left corner of cab need to be patched (can do that myself)

Was e-tested last year.

What do you guys think? Need opinions!!!

How much is he asking ?
and at 300,000 k you might as well expect to do the topend soon , no matter how well it was taken care of...
Mazda's rock but it was always a failing of there design.

Better to sit in silence and be thought stupid , then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Re: b2600i

Get a second opinion. NEVER trust a used car dealer, I worked as a mechanic for several of them in Houston. Don't pay too much. michael.
