Here's some history to consider: Bought '99 Yukon SLT in 2000 w/33K; now 125K. Positive: no power eq. has failed; AC works fine, never serviced; uses no oil; leaks no fluids; no tranny problems; good paint; no rust; doesn't squeak or rattle; still has orig. shocks, exhaust, radiator, radio -- all still good; starts quick; runs smoothly; good acceleration; just had orig. hoses replaced; no brake problems other than rotors warp;rides good for an SUV;only 1 alignment; never overheats; 4-wheel drive works well;no wind noise; no water leaks around windows or doors.
On the other hand, I've had to replace 2 injectors (see earlier post); replaced water pump at 100K; starter relay problems in 2003, then none since (wasn't seating properly); rear speaker near hatch disintegrated; replaced front-end suspension/steering parts at about 120K;driver side seat leather looking worn; replaced windshield wiper motor and steering column control cluster (signal light/cruise/headlight/etc.) due to sloppy windshield replacement by local shop -- water dripped from upper seal into module and shorted it out; has always had slight rear-end clunk.
Mine acts like it has lots of life left, but it's worth very little. If I were you, I wouldn't pay more than $6000. Get an experienced mechanic to check it out and look at its repair/maintenance records. You're probably close to a tranny job, and "they ain't cheap." Good luck.
