Broken Fuel Guage

My fuel guage goes from full to empty, even on a full tank of gas. It even states low fuel after I pump a full tank. Anyone know what I should replace or what might be the problem?

Assuming your speaking of a 2000+ Impala, then http://www.impalahq.com has a how-to just for fixing the fuel level sender. Its a somewhat common problem for Impala's to have, as mine has the same very problem, just am too lazy to have fixed it yet.

My 2000 Impala had the same problem. I read on "http://www.impalahq.com" that the fuel level sensor mounted on the fuel pump had gone bad. I bought one from Jennings Chevrolet (told them I found them on EBay. They give a better price that way) for $86 and replaced it. Now all works fine.
