early lumina's drivers door handle generic problem

Good Afternoon,

Learned a lot from this forum and time to give something back. Got a 92 lumina in ther family and the drivers door handle took a crap. In picking through the boneyard I noticed a lot driver side handles were missing already. In finding and removing (3), all had the same generic problem, that being a diagonal breakage crack on the mechanism, it did not allow the handle assembly to disengage the latch assembly.

Don't waste your time on the drivers handle folks !!
Go to the drivers rear door and remove the handle assembly. The part numbers match and it's a identical match. The crack is not there due to the much reduced use of the handle. You'll have to use vise grips to rip
off the riveted assembly that holds the door latch to the door, or you'll go crazy trying to figure it out. It's a boneyard folks.... use it for a training ground as I do. Go there and do a dry run, learn from doing.. or doing wrong to do right ! Take a lot of tools you may not think you will need because you will.

Thanks all !!
Steamer
