1993 VW Fox wont start

I have a '93 Fox that wont start. #1 thing to know is that I did switch some relays around from my other '93 Fox, may have got some in the wrong positions. I havent been able to find a wiring diagram for the relays. The car will pop start, fuel pump does make sound when key is turned forward. Turns over fine but either seems not to get spark, or fuel supply is cut when I try to start it. Can anyone help?

did you get your VW fired?
if not, you need to isolate whether electric or fuel delivery is the problem.
unplug a wire from the plug and crank... are you getting spark?
if so, great, it is probably one of the relays plugged in the incorrect spot.
you can go to some Audi/VW parts websites, and look up relays for your vehicle, and they will list the original Bosch numbers, so you can identify what should go where.
