Question 2005 Malibu

I bought a new 2005 Malibu, love it, but only had it two weeks and the check engine light came on, what can this be? Do I have to go back to the dealer and sit all day??

Go to Edmund's Town Hall and do a search on the problem. (Print out the info to take with you to the dealer).

It's a known problem, shouldn't take that long to fix. I just haven't been following '05 issues all that much since mine's an '04. This one seems to affect more '05s than '04s.

Re: 2005 Malibu

If the problem most often mentioned you would have experienced a "Check Gas Cap" message and/or notice that your fuel gauge doesn't go or stay at Full very long.

You didn't mention either of those things - applicable??
