I have a Mazda Tribute that I bought new in Feb. of 2001 and now it has 64000 miles on it. I like power, so I have the V6-200HP engine, auto, and 4x4. It gets 16-20 mpg or so....The only complaint is small gas tank....light comes on at 13 gallons or so (about 230 miles)......

Good car but poor dealer network.
Plastic stuff will break. Had two sets of front brakes, one set of rotors and 4 tires. Front tires go....V6 car though.
3 check engine light issues (EGR related)...on warranty.
Had to repair the cruise control cable also (repaired myself with a pin).

I use synthetic oil in it. Auto trans not always smooth.

Happy with truck...good price...good looks.

Hi All,

I have a 2002 Escape XLT with 62 000 Km on it.

I had the front support arms and lower A arm changed on it. My tires will have to be replaced in the fall. I wonder about the motor but it seems to be ok at this time. My trans shifts into OD funny sometimes but it works for now.

Regards,
Spotovi

My trans shifts the same way..I might have the fluid changed to synthetic because of higher temp tolerance.

I don't why U had the A arm changed...????

Tires always wear out....the front suspension is a McPherson strut design and with front wheel drive...tires always get burnt up.

Motor is good....I use synthetic....10w-30 Castrol. 65K on it now.

2003 (& technically very early 04MY) Escapes seem to be the most prone to the suspected Zircon contamination.
