Re: cold air intake passing threw innercooler question

no not at all. you cant cool air that is at atmospheric temp with more air at the same temp. he will however see a loss in power due to the engine having to pull air through the intercooler.

Re: cold air intake passing threw innercooler question

in some occasions, depending on the car, a little restriction on the intake creates better torque numbers. The engine will pull a given amount of air every stroke (1/2 displacement) regardless of what's in the way. A little (little) restriction will make that incoming air move faster, with more velocity, which CAN create better torque.

Not all cars are alike. My buddy's 240SX runs awesome with some restriction, as does my other buddies 98 Prelude. However, my Escort runs best with a short ram and as little intake restriction as possible.

Do it and see what happens, that's the only way you'll ever know if it helps or not.

Re: cold air intake passing threw innercooler question

Actually I was looking at Dsport and a Weapon R ad caught my attention. It listed 1320' times for all these CAI and short ram systems. Short rams>CAI. All about air velocity.

Re: cold air intake passing threw innercooler question

Like I said, it all depends on the car and mostly how the head is setup.

My Escort like SRI and my buddy's 240 likes CAI.
