Question Tachometer below 1000. Will car turn off?

RE: 1993 Maxima SE Automative - Twin Cam

Lately, i have noticed that when i put my maxima into P, the RMP tachometer needle dances between 2 and 1. It sometimes goes below 1, and the car feels as if it is going to die.

When in park, what number should the needle be on?

If it constantly goes below 1, is this is problem? Is this Engine or transmission related?

Thanks

P: rpm 750-850, drops about 100 in D

Cars do need regular tuneup; plugs, coilpacks, filters, harness pm, IACV cleanup etc, see Favorite Links on following page (left) for more info:

IACV http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/4 ; its like yours but location differs.
