1990 Camry Speed Sensor

I recently bought a 1990 Camry. The speedo doesn't work, I want to check the speed sensor, but for some reason I can't seem to find it. Please help me find this thing...it's beginnin to tick me off. Anything will be very appreciated.

Book lists a sensor behind the dash gage panel near where speedo cable is located.
