sunroof wont open in 95 honda civic ex

my sunroof was getting stuck midway when it was opening so we cleaned the tracks out and sprayed some silicone spray on the tracks and then tried it and holy crud! it opened fine but it didnt lift and slide back just slide back and scratched the top of my car. why isnt it lifting up then sliding back help.

I had (have) the exact same problem with mine, 95 ex also. Got it to go about 80% back, and then one day it just stopped lifting. Wish I knew what was wrong.. hope someone here knows.

i would just replace the whole thing with a carbon fiber panel and zeus fasteners.. and if your paranoid about the alarm factor, run a switch up to the panel so if its lifted off while the alarm is on... it goes off..

I have the same prob in my 95 ex if you put a hand on the glass it should open up and slide back , check the tracks on the black frame there should be two springs one on either side that go to the back under the roof make sure they are attached if not use a small screwdriver and pry them back on to the sunroof frame don't pull too hard becouse you dont want the back of the spring to slide off it helped mine just remember be gentle
