96 3.1 AC leak

Hi,
I am hoping someone can help with this. I just finished recharging my AC yesterday and the charge leaked out over night. I used the 134a with sealer in it, but it didn't help seal an obvious leak. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to track down where it may be leaking from? Is there a certain place that Monte AC's tend to leak from? Is there something else I can run thru it to seal the leak? It has been so hot here, any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

well what u hafta do if look for oily spots, etc...goto an autozone and buy the leak tracer dye...and look for it that way, i'd check the condenser those tend to get hit by stones n such and get a pinhole

As monte ss said get the green dye that will show under black light! Kinda hard to use but will find the leak if it is the front AC lines!

Ok guys I did what you suggested. I bought the kit and used the green dye and black light, but I'm still not able to find the leak. I checked the condenser and all of the a/c lines. I spent quite a bit of time on this and I found no leaks. I went ahead and charged the system again and the charge leaked out in a few hours. The only thing I didn't check is the evaporator. I know it's inside of the car somewhere, just not exactly sure where. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks.

All right the condensor is under the stock air box! You can fallow the ac lines off the ac compressor and it will lead you right to it!

If you have to pull the air box remember the bolt inbetween the battery and the airbox itself!

And by chance do you hear and hissing while recharging it? If you do normally you can normally follow the sound and locate you problem but if it is a slow leak then you probley won't

If its leaking out that fast, you SHOULD be able to hear it. The evaporator should be accessible via the box mounted to the firewall. It sucks having to waste a charge just to trace the leak, and Im sure youre getting tired of refilling it lol. But it has to be hissing somewhere if the leaks that bad. Be sure to check the high-pressure connections, and if nothing else, use some liquid leak detector (or diluted dishwashing liquid) to locate it. Good luck!

Oh sorry the evaporator is under the air box....not the condensor as I wrote above!

it may be the seals on your compressor...they may be worn out...just a thought... the bets way to find this is i would pull off i component at a time and look for the leak..if you have the time to dedicate to it...you will find a wet spot on something somewhere..
