New Camry Owner!

Well, my wife and I just purchased a '01 CAMRY LE 2.2L 4cyl with leather, premium sound, sunroof/moonroof, for $10.2k (the salesman goofed and quoted us 8900 + title/tax, and they had to give it to us at that price per store policy -- $11.6k is retail price on kelly blue book, so we feel good about that!). Our other car is a '94 honda accord so this car is like jumping into the future for us!

The car is amazing so far, the ride is smooth and the engine is very well kept. Brand new tires, tinted windows, ice cold a/c, new exhaust, new brakes, timing belt already replaced, and 71k miles. We hope to get 10 years out of this puppy!!

yea!

Re: New Camry Owner!

Make sure you change the oil frequently, particularly if you drive it short distances. Also, make sure your PCV valve is working correctly. Your engine may have poor crankcase ventilation and be prone to destroy oil. See the first topic in the FAQ thread.

Yes, I already read that about the sludge. Scary. I didn't know about that when we bought it. I am very good about preventative maintainence on my cars. I will keep this in check. Thanks!

Re: New Camry Owner!

just found out that my engine is a non-interference type. pretty cool, if the timing belt breaks, the engine doesn't destroy itself! what a brilliant idea...
