Flat Spot Kawasaki Vulcan 750
1999 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. Have adjusted the idle and mixture (both carbs) but I have a flat spot accelerating between 2500 RPM and 3000 RPM. All other RPM ranges are fine and most notable (obviously in first gear). Any suggestions?

Flat Sot
I hear you. But, I wonder if it is going lean at the point the carburetor/s change or transition from low to high speed jets or maybe the butterfly is hanging up momentarilly at that point.

Flat Spot
Closed fuel pet cock, started bike and let her run until she died, disconnected fuel line to carbs, filled with carb cleaner, reconnected line and started her up. She huffed and puffed, blew black and then gray smoke, opened pet cock and let fuel flow to carbs, ran her at about 3000 RPM for 30 seconds, then took her for a ride and she is smooth as glass. Pro9blem solved.
