1987 High Beams Only help

Have a 1987 6cyl and I can only get the high beam headlights to work. They are the single bulbs, both beams in the same bulb.

When I turn the lights on they do not light unless I put the high beams on. I have changed the bulbs with no help.

Is there a fuse for just the low beams?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Brian

Not having a schematic for your year Bird I would say check for a broken wire or bad switch. Go to your local library and ask for the Mitchell electrical manual for your year, to get a schematic to help you.

Yes, there is a fuse for the headlamps.
Most likely suspect is the stalk switch.
Make an enlarged copy of the schematic, it will make it easier to read and mark off what you have checked. Use the schematic to trace and test each component in the circuit.
