Cam Question for ya ladies.

I did an auto to manual swap on this guys car and he claims that his mileage went from 35 to 20 mpg. He says he was told by some Honda guru that the reason was the cams are dif for the auto and manual trans.

Oh Gods of the Forum......

Rise now and bless me with your plethora of wisdom.

Re: Cam Question for ya ladies.

I'm not a lady but I'll take a crack at it... How high is he reving the engine in each gear? If he's reving it pretty high, then his mpg will go down. Tell him to keep it at low rpms when he's just daily driving. And I've never heard of the cams being different for auto and manual.

Re: Re: Cam Question for ya ladies.

I know in b16s they are is this a b16 and the change of milage is nill infact cause when i did change we tuned so got better milage.

I think hes ragging on it or somthing else is up cause the difference in the cams is quite slight and is mainly on secodary lobe anyway.
