ignition systems

The tech at my work said that I should look into a ignition system, because I've got alot of unburned fuel going out the rear after putting in these new stage 1 cams. My hydrocarbons went from about sixty six to 98( and that if i let it sit at idle for a minute). When you first let of the gas they jump to 2-300 HC and slowly go down after that. So it kind of makes sense to get better spark and burn off the excess gas, plus probably get little more hp's. He recamended the Crane HI-6 with a PS91 fireball coil and change the distributor cap. What do you guys think has anyone tried a new ignition system?
