2000 Yukon - Install GM9 AUX Converter

I purchased a GM9-Aux Input adapter for my 2000 Yukon. This will allow me to connect an mp3 player to my radio, it connects to the 9 pin port on the back of the unit. Do I need to remove the radio to install it? If so, what is the procedure for removing the deck?

Thanks

Would appreciate any help out there, if someone has the walk-through on accessing the back of the stock radio on a 2000 Yukon. I'm assuming I'll have to pull the dash out and would like any tips on the best way to do this.

Thanks,

Re: 2000 Yukon - Install GM9 AUX Converter

I have an 01' Yukon and am not sure if the dashes are the same. On mine, the trim bezel needs to come of that surrounds the radio and instrument cluster. It is held by clips. The radio will be exposed. Mine is on a track that you push down on 2 levers and the radio comes right out. Be sure to have the code to your radio if you intend to unplug the power. Good luck.
