Exclamation 1990 Cadillace Sevill Radio

I have a 1990 Cadillac Seville and the radio does not work, it doesnt even turn on, i checked the fuses in the fuse block, the Radio fuse and Radio Power fuse are both good, what can i do to check the radio, do i have to remove the dashboard to get to the radio, or is there something else i should check first?

Re: 1990 Cadillace Sevill Radio

I ended up getting a similar radio from a Chevy Cavalier. its all the same, just different wiring harness, but i rigged it all up, and it seems to work, only problem is that the radio is kind of beat up and its got a kind of bad sound from it, like the front speakers sound all crackly and the back are almost going, the radio has seen better days

I'm sure the speakers are gone, and the Cavalier stereo isn't that far behind. To the best of my knowledge, the '90 Seville isn't a collector yet, so an aftermarket CD/MP3 player is the best way to go.

if you DO want to keep it original, get me a picture of your plug-in connectors, as I have a couple of 'Symphony sound' and early Bose units for the Cadis.

or try:

Arapahoe Auto
(cadillac ONLY)
Englewood, Colorado
800.229.0875

Donnie Hunter- owner/operator

he probably has the EXACT unit for your vehicle, and if not, would probably know where to conjour one up.
hope this helps,

Re: 1990 Cadillace Sevill Radio

well im pretty sure the speakers are good, before the original radio went out it sounded great, its the radio i put it was kind of beat up, i was thinkin of getting an aftermarket radio but i still need to pay for it and all.

I'll get a picture of the original wiring harness, i can get something from the internet and show you close enough what it looks like:

I hope those are of any help
