Stall out/jerky transmission
I have a 1998 with a 2.2L engine that jerks and dies when I go to stop only occasionaly. The battery light will come on. I have replaced the alternator, fuel filter, fan, battery, and transmission fluid. The car takes off fine. Sometimes when I am at idle, the engine revs and acts like it is trying to change gears. What could be my issue? I think it may be the solenoid in the transmission going bad. Has anyone seen this problem before? If so, what was the problem? If it is the solenoid, I don't know how to change it out. Can anyone help me with that too?

Re: Stall out/jerky transmission
If it dies only after going highway speeds then it's your TCC (torque clutch converter) solenoid.
