Question airbrush spraying......cotton candy??

well, i started air brushing my gt500 with ppg acapulco blue. i couldn't find the spray jar for my pasche brush so i had to use a back up, gravity feed with a small bowl. i noticed some "cob webs" forming, and just figured that they had accumulated in the open space over night. no biggie...then i realized they were coming from the gun. is this caused by the paint not being thin enough, or an improper paint/air mixture? any help would be great. this is my friggin second botched air brush paint job, and second straight botched paint job, as my vette had major issues.

Needs to be thinned more. Could also be from excessive air pressure in conjunction with not enough thinner.
Thin it a lot more, mix it really well, then if you need to, add some paint in to thicken it back up for better coverage. If it starts cobwebbing again add a bit of thinner... - Mark

Re: airbrush spraying......cotton candy??

thanks. I wish I wasn't so stubborn. I sprayed several coats. so now I've got to sand it all smooth and then paint. I paid 9 bucks for 3 oz. NO WAY am I stripping it. lol. The best way to learn from your mistakes is to fix them the hard way. lol

I agree with Scale-Master. Cobwebbing effect will happen if the paint is not thin enough.
