92 bonnie won't start when wet or rainy outside
every time it rains, when i turn the key to start, the engine turns, but no start. this happened to me a couple times before and it's always turned out to be bad or disconnected air hoses. but this time, all the hoses that i can see are okay and connected.
is there somewhere water might be leaking in that i should check? are there other hoses that i can't see that i should check? |

Re: 92 bonnie won't start when wet or rainy outside
Check the ignition system mainly around the coil and plug wires. Pull each wire from the coil and place a little dielectric grease around the boots of the plug wires and replace them. Also do the same thing for each plug wire. Make sure the weather pack connectors to the ignition module are tight and making a good connection. The only other area to check is to check around the power distribution center under the hood to make sure it is not getting wet. Sometimes, wet relays can cause a similar problem.

hey, thanks for the quick reply.
i had already checked the things you mentioned. i decided to check for codes, and got an anti-theft code for the ignition switch wiring. so i took everything off to get to it, and there was a little bit of metal showing on the wire. so i taped it, put everything back together, and it fired right up. i guess the humidity was helping to create a short. hope this helps someone else. thanks again |
