Shift Knob

I have a 2002 Cavalier LS 5 Speed, and it has the shift knob where you have to pull up to put it in reverse, and i was wondering, is it possible to change shift knobs for it? Me and my friends have looked and looked on how to do it and came up with no ideas, any help wouldbe appreciated, thanks!

Re: Shift Knob

this is the only thing I have found

http://www.rksport.com/product/p_02099300/view_detail

I have tried several different brands of just knobs and non fit because of the reverse switch

you could replace it with one that doesn't have that switch, but I don't know how to go about that

Thanks, but i would like to replace it with one that dosent have the reverse switch..i have one in mind its from advanced autoparts. It is the one that has the lights on all the gears, and the lights turn on when you shift into that specific gear. Idreally like a different knob, but dont wanna pay 157 bucks for one like that, haha. Does any1 know how to replace it with one that does not have a reverse switch?

Re: Shift Knob

You have to do some cutting. But yes, i have seen a post through my many years of researching J-body stuff. But for the life of my it would take a long ass time to dig up. It was www.j-body.org and do a search of old posts.
