Transfer case leak

I have a '95 Blazer 4.3; auto trans; 140K miles. I recently noticed a leak where the front driveshaft comes out of the transfer case. I read somewhere to check the vent on top of the case to see if it or any of the hoses are plugged. My question is, I can see the vent but how the heck can you get to it? Also, does anyone know where the three hoses from the vent go?. Thanks in advance
Dave

Re: Transfer case leak

those 3 hoses are vacuum lines that go to ur actuator for ur 4x4, (well one is a vacuum line from the intake, and one goes to the actuator and one is a breather), if just that one is leakin and not the one for ur rear driveshaft then u probably just have a bad seal

Re: Transfer case leak

If it is leaking from vent. Pull the fluid fill plug on the Transfercase. If ATF dumps out(like way over full) then fluid could be coming from transmission and overfilling transfercase. Just a possible...

unexplained leak

I know this is an old thread, but i just experienced a leak from what I think is the transmission overflow vent tube (is there a Haynes manual for the 2002 s-10 ZR2???), when I was trailering a boat on the highway up and down hills from Maryland to NY for the first time in several years. It got all over the transfer case, and the rest of the undercarriage. The transmission fluid level is fine though. Should I be worried, and what can I do??? Thanks...Brad
