Question impala value??

I have an all original 1965 impala. It is a 4 door with only 64,000 original miles on it. There is no rust, and the interior is perfect. It has the 327 with the 2 speed power glide. Original A/C works and has the original spare tire in the trunk. The original paint looks great from 5 to 10 feet away, but when you get close you can see the cracks in the paint from age. I love the car, but I don't like drivinf it to much because I don't want to put to many miles on it and I can't modify it because it is all orignal. So, I am thinking about selling it. However, I don't know how much it is worth, and I don't really know how to sell it. Any advice or help would be great.

nada was a little helpful but the others were not. Unless I couldn't find it, edmunds and kbb wouldn't go back that far. Does it being all original with low miles add value, and typically by how much?? I had the car appraised by some local guy, because I couldn't find the value and he looked at it for maybe 10 minutes. Said everything was perfect and then appraised it at $5800. I was not happy. I guess he just wanted to make an easy $50. All he did was look for comparisons on the internet. Which, he didn't find, because I had already tried to find another one like it. I have no idea how he came up with $5800.

I'm throwing a guess at all of this, but I can't imagine the 4 door Impala's being as pricey as say a 2 door SS. Cracked paint would be a downside for car-show material i'd guess. 5800 does seem low, but i'm no expert. I see cars with good paint, not all orignal, but good parts that go for far less than 5800.

I heard from some that the cracked paint adds value because it is original. But whatever. I guess it is worth what the highest offer is. It is so nice, I really don't want to get rid of it, but I do need a second car. Thanks for the advice though.

I am really interested in getting rid of this vehicle. I am thinking about ebay or the dupont registry. Where ever I can get the most. Has anyone had any good or bad experiences selling there car. There is a big car show this weekend and maybe I can sell it there. I want to sell this car within a month.

Re: impala value??

E-bay is a good bet, lol, just put a $6000 reserve on it so you dont have to sell it for less than 6k.

You may want to take a look at hemmings.com or get one of there monthly pubs at the book store or magazine rack at some stores. Good place to start for classic and antique cars/parts also offer look-ups on website classic car prices. another fun website to visit for classic car sales and corvettes is mershons.com, physical location Springfield, OH.

Re: impala value??

$5800 seems in the ball park to me. Depends on your area and how bad someone wants a 4 door.
