pulleys, what are all of them?
I'd like to know what all these pulleys are for:
If you're standing at the left (driver's) side of the car, this would be my Civic LX 1994, Automatic Transmision, A/C (equiped, not working) pulleys layout A is the pulley that seems to come from the engine and has 3 different sizes attached to each other B is the pulley for the alternator C seems to be for the steering liquid, a pump i guess D is attached to some block, maybe for the A/C? or what for? E is the smallest one and i have no idea what it is for. the belts i have go from A to B, and from A to C. no other belts. also i have an other, big question: where the heck is the water pump and it's pulley? i have the haynes manual, but it doesn't show where it is. (you can guess - i have overheating problem. radiator and fan are ok, thermostat opens... but there's no water going into the engine) |

DEA is ac belt. D is compressor. E is tension. A is crank. this probable explains why you have no ac
![]() CA is power steering belt. C is powersteering. A is crank. AB is alternator belt. B is alternator. A is crank. water pump and pulley...................remove the lower timing belt cover.

Re: pulleys, what are all of them?
Thanks a lot
![]() is there any way to check the water pump without removing that cover? According to haynes manual, i'd have to dismount almost half of the car to do this lol |

Re: Re: pulleys, what are all of them?
Yes you do have to remove all the belts, engine mount, upper/lower timing covers, valve cover. This is why you should replace the water pump during timing belt replacement.
