well its rainy and windy and my alarm is ringing continuously at 2:30am! waking up my house. i disarm it and it goes off again 5 minutes later. it arms itself. so fuck this alarm! lol and fuck the wind.. back to bed now.

HAHAHHAAHHA my bros civic has auto arm but theres a catch to it. if u turn off the alarm and open the door and close it again, the alarm doesnt auto arm....u can then just lock it with the key...

The shock sensor is not supposed to be adjusted so sensitively. If you installed it yourself, lower the sensitivity a little or take it to the shop where it was installed and have them adjust it for ya.

here's the bigger mystery. at work today, my alarm went off. so i disarm it. it arms itself of course and goes off again. no rain, just wet out. minimal wind. never had any problems before. think ill try making it not auto arm. ill just kill the starter and lock the doors.

Well, if there's no one messing with you, then you'd be better off gettingthe install checked out at the shop it was installed. Better to do it now than later when the warranty runs out.

It sounds like a loose connection on a crimp or wire tap.

its a viper alarm that came with the car so no warranty. what and where should i look for shit thats gone wrong?

usually, in my bros car...if the alarm keeps going off, theres a mobile (cell) phone inside.... it sets off the microwave/ultrasonci sensors of the alarm

What kind of alarm does your brother have? I've never heard of a microwave/ultrasonic sensor.

As to what to look for, look under the driver's side dash to locate the majority of the wiring connections. I'd try to trace the wiring back to the alarm brain and check to see the connectors they used.

Wire taps always come loose eventually and for example, if the door trigger connection is loose and the alarm detect the door is open due to a faulty connection, it will trigger the alarm. Butt connectors are more reliable for longevity and a soilid connection, but you have to split the wire to use them which most people don't do. Wire taps are more convenient.

Anyways, that's my theory. I've installed all my own larms in the past having learned the trade from a couple installer buddies. In my opinion, this seems a likely cause to your dilema.

Nope, not ultrasonic. If you crack one open, you'll see how it works. The mechanism can detect even the slightest vibrations when the sensor is mounted to an appropriate area in the car.

The alarm going on and off on its own happened to me as well. Turned out to be a loose connection. That's all.

Sup bro? Well I HAD the same problem with my alarm. I have a Clifford 7000. The thing that was wrong with it was the hood pin. It wasnt adjusted right, so it thought that someone opened it after I had armed it so It kept going off. We adjusted it and now everything is good. You can check that, or make sure no one is messing w/ you. If you have a garage put it in there a couple of nights and check if it still goes off. Good Luck
