Horn Fuse Keeps Blowing
I have a '93 Jeep GC and I've tried everything to get the horn working properly. I've tested it, and the horn works fine on its own. The horn relay seems ok. The second I press the horn button the fuse blows. Obviously it's a short somewhere in the wires. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any ideas where to start looking first (is there a spot in the wiring where it commonly develops shorts)?
Thanks in advance, Jtavares |

I have a 1993 jeep cherokee whose horn isn't working. The manual that came with the jeep does not match the relay box located WAY under the steering wheel, where we thought according to the manual this is where the relay would be.We checked out a Chilton book on our make and model at the library, and it is not clear either as to the EXACT location of the horn relay, so we can repalce it. We bought the part at Auto Zone and it looks similar to a plug, it has three prongs and just needs to be plugged in somewhere, WE JUST DON"T KNOW WHERE! We are very frustrated and don't won't to take it to the dealership and pay tons of money to have them tell us where to plug it in. HELP!!! Where is your relay located?

Re: Horn Fuse Keeps Blowing
I think the relay was on the side of the dash, only visible when you open the passenger side door. There are supposed to be 3 in there and the horn one was the one closest to the vehicle compartment. We swapped them all out with a good one just incase, and it didn't make a difference which is why we assumed the horn relay was ok.
Now if we could just figure out the fuse.... |

Just a thought - Try disconnecting the horn and then press the horn button to see if the fuse still pops. If it only pops with it connected you'll know the horn is drawing too much current. Good luck.
