Signals and Brake Lights?

95 s-10 4 Cyl.

so i go up to my camp this weekend in cambrige springs PA, i get up there about midnight, pull into town and cops pull behind me and turn on their lights... they told me my brake lights were too dim. (they were probably hoping for a drunk driver or something) anyway they let me go without a citation or anything.

This is what is happening:

When the truck is off the brake lights are very bright, as they should be.

When the truck is on the brake lights are very dim almost off.

The turn signals blink very slowly and they are very dim also.

My reverse lights have stopped working.

My battery is reading about 14 volts so i am very confused.

I thought maybe a ground but they work when the trucks off...

PLEASE HELP ME

It sounds like a bad ground... Trace the harness grounds at the tail lights and check for corrosion. Pull the bulbs and check for corrosion. Sand both the ground connectors and the body where they connect. Check your frame grounds as well.

BTW, shrink your sig picture, it's too friggin big!

Agreed rlith. Your ground is on the driver side along the frame rail. Battery terminal cleaner works wonders on corroded grounds.
