Thanks for replying with location for your year and vehicle. This site is a very good site. But if everyone replied with their findings, we probably wouldn't need the dealers 95 percent of the time! Thanks again.

Well, put new Relay in and fans still not working, now the search is on for the Temperture sensor. I am enclosing a photo of radiator fan relay in my personal photo gallery on this forum.. I didn't know what it looked like when I started looking for it, had to go to auto parts store and they showed me what it looked like. Helps to know what it looks like when your hunting for it. If anyone knows where the Temperature Sensor is please let me know. |

Well Gentlemen, found Temp. sensor. That's OK. Even cleaned the ground wires for the fan ( which are under the battery holder). Next step is make an appt. with Chyrsler dealer. I am only $75 in the hole on this DIY. Could have been worse. Tomorrow I will see how much more I will be in the hole after I see the dealer. Anyone that needs a 97 Voyager Radiator Cooling Fan Relay cheap, let me know. This one cost me $55.95 plus tax. Willing to sell it cheap. Good Luck Ives |

Re: 97GC can't find Rad. fans relay
before you go to the dealer try jump in the power to the fans if that doesnt make them go you got bad motors i have seen it happen one goes you dont notice it then the other goes and then you really notice it. also make sure you are getting power to the fans. Also make sure i dont no what year your van is but make sure you changed your temp sensor and not your sendor there is a difference one is for your gauge and one is for you computer to turn the fan of and on if it is new enough it might be the same on. good luck your friendly dodge dealership mechanic

Hi again Guys, well didn't have to go to the Dealer. While I was working on the van yesterday a friend of mine stopped by and said that if the fan doesn't start as soon as the A/C is turned on than something is still wrong with the system.
I, not being a mechanic. My friend use to have a body shop. I took his word for it. But, as I was on my way to the dealer. I kept watching the temp gauge. It stayed below the 1/2 way mark. After about 10 miles, I figured this thing should be overheating by now. So I pulled over and opened the hood, and low & behold. Both fans were running. Turned around, went home. Hasn't overheated yet. So I would say that they Radiator Cooling Fan Relay replacement worked. Also that it must have to reach a certain temperature before the fans turn on. As for my friend, he was trying to help. We all make mistakes. One more thing, my Service Engine Soon light came on after replacing the Relay. It eventully went off by itself. I hope all of these posts helped (iamed) the person with the original question about the Fan relay. Thanks to all of you that contrbuted to solving my problem. I also appreciate you replying with your fix. I may not be having the problem now but I'm sure I'll come across it in the future. Thanks again. Also I learned from Yogi_123 that if you pull the connector off the temp sensor, the PCM will (is supposed to) run the fans continously, thinking you have a bad sensor. FYI

Re: 97GC can't find Rad. fans relay
This looks like what is happening to my 97 GV. Ives1 did you notice that when the van was just idling with the A/C on that the air was not cold and when the van was moving the air from vent became cool again?
Also found Relay for Radiator fan motor for $7.75 can it be true? Below it the web site http://www.autopartsgiant.com/CAT_FRAMEX.cfm |
